For most standard upholstery and fabric surfaces we recommend using 100ml of fabric protector per M2 of surface. It doesn’t need to be exact, just make sure the fabric is saturated with product.

Please note saturating does not apply for leather, suede and velvet. We recommend a light spray and then gently “buffing” the product into the fibres with a soft, clean cloth. If you are spraying large areas, we recommend using our battery sprayer to ensure even application and avoid wrist fatigue.

Some fabrics will require a second coat of product to be applied with an additional 100ml per M2 within 30 minutes of the first application. These include but are not limited to:

• Heavy or thick fabrics, as they tend to be more absorbent, such as heavyweight linen;
• Textured fabrics or materials, like woven fabrics where the weave is particularly visible; rugs and carpets, especially shaggy type ones with long strands;
• Outdoor fabrics and rugs, especially if not kept undercover or exposed to the elements;
• Highly absorbent fabrics and materials, such as linen and jute (Jute rugs: Protecting, Cleaning & Styling)

Stain proof your car in just 5 simple steps:

1. Get ready: You want to start with a clean surface, so get that vacuum out to the driveway and give your seats a thorough once over to remove any crumbs or dirt.
2. Spot test:  protectME is suitable for suede and alcantara materials, but it’s always a good idea to do a quick spot check. Spray a small concealed area to make sure its colourfast.
3. Protect: Spray using a back and forth motion over your car seats, interiors and steering wheel until the fabric is moist. Our battery operated sprayer is our go-to to avoid wrist fatigue!
4. Patience is key: Don’t jump in with that tall latte just yet. Give your newly protected upholstery 12 hours to dry and your spill-proof alcantara will be worth the wait.
5. Take your new protection for a test drive: Spray a small amount of water on your seats, if small beads of water appear on the surface then you are ready to roll. If not, it’s best to do another coat just to be sure.

Tip: Keep a soft cloth in your glove box. This way, if your green juice does take a tumble simply wipe away the liquid and the mess is gone! Always prefer reusable cloth over disposable paper towels.
